Childhood - it comes only once. As a parent, you want the best for your child. It’s important to know that he or she is being cared for by responsible, loving adults in a safe environment. You want the peace of mind of knowing that your child will receive the best available supervision, appropriate education and personal attention. That is exactly what you will find at Winter Park Presbyterian Preschool.
Winter Park Presbyterian Preschool has served the community for over 20 years. The school is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children and has received the Florida Gold Seal of Excellence. Winter Park Presbyterian Preschool has an excellent reputation in the community and prides itself on our excellent teacher-child ratios. The teachers have excellent early childhood credentials and receive continuous training throughout the year. We reward our staff for continuing their education.
Mission Statement
Our goal is to foster an environment in which a child, at his or her own pace, may develop the ability to think independently and begin to learn the social skills that are a necessary first step in the maturation process. Additionally, we provide an atmosphere in which a child can develop self-respect, self-reliance, and self-discipline.
While the preschool offers an excellent developmentally appropriate curriculum, we are committed to enhancing spiritual growth by promoting Christian beliefs and values. We believe that, through the array of experiences our school can offer to the children and their parents, each child will have the opportunity to grow mentally, emotionally, and socially. The curriculum will also enhance the quality of each child’s spiritual life and make our students feel proud to be children of God and a welcome part of the community of faith.
Our Philosophy
At Winter Park Presbyterian Preschool we understand that play is how children learn. Our expectations are that the teachers and assistants provide a successful preschool environment, using a developmentally appropriate curriculum of hands-on activities. Helping each child develop to his or her full potential physically, socially, emotionally and intellectually is our goal. Winter Park Presbyterian Preschool will provide children with the kind of environment that will encourage them to learn, grow and be happy.
We strive to provide a curriculum that is consistent, organized, carefully planned and provides abundant opportunities to learn. We use a curriculum that incorporates the philosophies and theories of the best child development specialists in education and brain research as well as the tenets of Christian education in the Presbyterian Church. This developmentally appropriate curriculum meets the highest standards of excellence.
A Little Background
We are proud of the reputation and growth of Winter Park Presbyterian Preschool. Winter Park Presbyterian Preschool celebrated our twentieth year in 2005.
The faculty and staff of the Winter Park Presbyterian Preschool are an excellent group of experienced, qualified educators and child care professionals. Our administrative staff and teaching staff will meet your child’s daily needs professionally and efficiently as well as warmly and with great care.
Winter Park Presbyterian Preschool faculty members make themselves available for discussion of your child’s needs during non-work hours one evening each week and will hold formal parent-teacher conferences with you at least once a year. They will keep you informed of your child’s interests and activities through monthly calendars and newsletters.
Our toddler staff members will maintain an adult-child ratio that allows for individual attention and safety. Our toddler program is not a baby sitting service, but a program of specific age appropriate experiences offered in an atmosphere of warmth and love.
